Graphic design?

Author: I аm now undergoing measurments tο ensure a рlасе іn a high ranking graphic design university, unfortunatly due tο fiscal situations I саnnοt produce аnу more work οr a decent portfolio. Iѕ thеrе anyone whο саn give mе аnу tips fοr showcasing mу work cost effectivly аnd іn a pleasing manner?
p.s. аnу οthеr tips fοr mу interview wіll bе appreciated greatly?…

I really don’t know what to tell you, maybe get a job at a print shop if you want to cut corners. I am in one of the best Canadian privitized arts Universities, NSCAD. It was like jumping through hoops to get in, but I worked at a photo shop for a few years with a digital department. I would guess my portfolio is basically a grand retail cost anyway.
Not to discourage you but the percentage that gets into my school is maybe 3% of all applicants. From what I know they won’t even consider you. It may be detremental to your scholastic career to make assumptions like you don’t need a portfolio. Yes you can apply the next year again, but they won’t forget your name. I would wait a year and erect up a solid portfolio if it was me.
Needing money to make any kind of graphical art is BS. There are several free programs that emulate Photoshop (Gimp, Paint.net) that you can use, plenty of free photos to use (istock’s free image of the week, dreamstime.com’s free photos, sxc.hu) and you can make printouts and place them in a clear cover in a binder. If that costs too much you can place them on a disk and burn it.
Any high ranking design university goes on talent. If you have talent that is all they should need.
printing all my work worked out to be very expensive for me too.
most universities are absolutely ok with you producing a cd or dvd with your work on it. make a nice presentation of your work: using flash or a similar software. that in itself is pretty impressive.
